Alice Dorcik
I emerge from the stone and merge with it.
I know fear. Suffering. Violence.
Today, at the dawn of a new life, I am woman and love. The bruise becomes alluring.
The stillness of the past transforms into the creative energy of new forms and, in its rough, jagged hardness, expresses the most intimate side of femininity: that light, happy, and mischievous air of the girl who lives within my heart.
I will remain this way forever and to all, a “Slovak girl.”
